USA Stuns Canada, Wins Gold

                On April 16th, Team USA won the 2023 IIHF Women’s World Championship with a 6-3 come from behind win against their rivals Team Canada on Canadian soil. The Canadian women were looking to make it three straight gold medals and had home ice advantage with a sellout crowd every night in Brampton, ON. Team USA captain Hilary Knight led the way in silencing the Canadian faith full scoring three goals and registering her 100th point in her IIHF Worlds career. This win broke the Americans three game losing skid in finals games against the Canadians. Their last win being the gold medal game of the 2018 Olympics where they beat the Canadians 3-2 in a shootout. This is Team USA’s 10th gold medal.

We are here to give you a preview and predictions for who will be punching their ticket to the Stanley Cup Finals.   Carolina Hurricanes vs Florida Panthers : Hurricanes win 4-2   Jaylynn Nash via Getty Images                T he Florida Panthers have taken down the 65-win Boston Bruins and the ultra- star powered Toronto Maple Leafs. Unfortunately, they have met their match . W ithout goal scoring forwards Max Pacioretty and Andrei Svechnikov , the Carolina Hurricanes were still able to score 24 goals in 5 games. Chicago Wins Bedard Sweepstakes in Controversial NHL Lottery

  Written by: Trey Kristensen | Published: May 9th, 2023 Dennis Pajot via Getty Images                   The NHL Draft lottery has come and passed but not without controversy.                The Chicago Blackhawks landed the #1 overall selection in the 2023 NHL Draft which will most likely be used to select generational prospect Connor Bedard. Bedard has lit up the WHL this season with the Regina Pats posting 71 goals and 72 assists in just 57 games. The Blackhawks look poised to begin another period of success behind Bedard.                The Anaheim Ducks, who had the best odds to land the #1 pick, will have to settle for #2 while the Columbus Blue Jackets landed #3. Some controversy arose around the Blue Jackets landing the 3rd pick, however.                     On the TV broadcast of the Draft Lottery the San Jose Sharks were announced to have the #4 overall pick.
